The most expanding aspect of computer application is in the field of health.
Patient data, hospital archives and health information systems have all be digitized now. Digitalization has extended into daily patient care to an extent that an inefficient system of digital experience will paralyze hospital altogether. Absence of efficient operators and programmers has caused a lot of waste of resources changing the systems and data bases. Internet has availed a wide range of medical literature and information that awaits making use of by the health personnel who do not have the time navigate, and may not the experience in computers to act in digital troubleshooting.
A new health team member is needed to explore the expanding horizons of distant healing or telemedicine, which is expected to be of importance in all countries with limited resources and widely spaced services.
Outline The B. Sc. Heath Computing program (B.Sc.HC) requires four years (8 semesters) divided into three phases: all are based at the main campus of the College with one or two days off campus in visits to relevant institutions and training facilities. The program schedule therefore involves considerable commitment from students to be on time at the respective sites specified in their daily timetables. Each student should have a functioning e-mail address for last moment changes, a frequent incident in field training programs.
STRUCTURE OF HEALTH COMPUTING CURRICULUM The program is of four years’ (8 semesters’) duration divided into three phases, comprising about 160 CHs. A semester is 18-20 weeks in Phase 1 and 2, and 22-24 weeks in Phase 3.
Phases:
Phase 1:Introductory courses and College requirements Semesters 1
